Media Products Maker to Expand Its Indy Operations
World Media Group Inc., a multimedia products manufacturer, announced today that it will expand its manufacturing operations here, creating up to 28 new jobs by 2012.
The company, which manufactures products including DVDs, compact discs and flash drives and offers CD and DVD replication services, will invest more than $2 million to expand production processes at its 100,000 square-foot manufacturing facility on the city's east side.
“World Media Group's expansion brings welcomed opportunities to central Indiana and we look forward to partnering with them as they continue to grow,” said Mitch Roob, Secretary of Commerce and chief executive officer of the Indiana Economic Development Corporation.
World Media Group, which employs more than 130 associates at its Indianapolis headquarters, plans to begin hiring additional manufacturing associates as facility upgrades are completed at the site.
“Indiana and more specifically, Indianapolis made strategic sense for the expansion of our manufacturing process because of this centralized location. We can reach 70 percent of the United States and Canada in one day's drive,” said Josh Mellentine, vice president of operations at World Media Group.
Founded in 1988, World Media Group employs nearly 150 at production centers in Nashville; Columbus, Ohio; Dallas; and New York City. The company also operates a Creative Card Group, which produces and programs plastic cards for uses including gift cards, loyalty cards and hotel room keys.
The Indiana Economic Development Corporation offered World Media Group up to $100,000 in performance-based tax credits and up to $5,000 in training grants based on the company's job creation plans. The city of Indianapolis will provide hiring assistance at the request of Indianapolis Economic Development Inc.

World Media Group's expansion comes just two weeks after racing bike components maker, Zipp Speed Weaponry, announced it would invest more than $12.4 to construct a new manufacturing facility on the city's northwest side, creating more than 100 new jobs by 2013.

World Media Group also tests, duplicates, verifies, prints and packages USB drives of many designs and sizes. World Media Group also has added SD chip duplicating, printing and packaging to their product lines.
World Media Group launched CCG (Creative Card Group, LLC) in 2009 (www.creativecardgroup.com). This division manufactures, prints and programs cards of all types. Some of the types of cards provided are gift cards, loyalty cards, hotel keys, scratch off cards, identification cards and smart cards.
